Adoption Pending - 1/21/2012

Rudy's made great progress since his heartworm treatment.  He's learned to be a successful part of his pack, and loves to fetch and play with his foster siblings.

Rudy is a very small (10 to 11 pounds) sable male. He and Jake came from a backyard breeder that didn't want him anymore. He, like Jake, tested positive for heartworms. He has started treatment and will be ready in mid-January. He came to us with both old injuries and fresh injuries! He had a large cut to the back of an ear and scrapes on his head and face. He has an old injury to his jaw which 'de-gloved' one of the lower canine teeth. That just means you can see most of that tooth all the way to the jaw when it should be partially covered by his lip and gums. Poor boy, we are pretty sure he wasn't taken to the vet when he was injured. The tooth is stable, so there is nothing medically that needs to be done to it. It just gives him more character!

He is 4 years old and very sweet! He loves to curl up next to you and cuddle, and he is learning just how much fun toys can be!
