Update 12/28/11 – Duncan continues to make progress. He is coming out of his shell and interacting more with his foster parents and fur siblings. He has learned to come back in the house on the leash, after trips outside to do his business, but is reluctant to leave his crate or the house to go outside. His crate is still his safe spot, where he likes to spend most of his time, even when the crate door is open. It’s placed where he can feel like part of the family and can watch all the daily activity. He is making progress on housetraining, too, with only the occasional accident. He is a sweet boy, who is slowly learning to love and trust. He gets along well with other dogs, but is protective of his food. He is a wee lad, but has shown flashes of spirit and fun we’re sure will become more common as he adjusts to life in a loving home.
Duncan is a 5 year old sable male who has spent all his life until now in a puppymill. Understandably, he is adjusting slowly to life in the 'real world.' There are quite a few things he is learning - housetraining, how to walk on a leash, and how wonderful it is to be living inside a home with a soft bed, good food, treats, etc. He and Jordin are best friends; he would be very happy if he could get a home with her! He is on the small side of average and weighs about 17 pounds.
